So you’ve decided to get that tattoo, and you know you don’t want to get an ugly tattoo. Duh. Who wants to get one of those?? LOL A lot of people choose to express their faith by getting a Bible verse tattoo. There’s only one problem with this: Which verse do you want to display to people? The Bible is the most read book ever written, and there are thousands of verse you could pick from. I’ve compiled a list of the Top 6 Bible Verse Tattoos for you here.
Most Popular Choice – The Golden Rule
John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave his only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
This one says a lot. It gets it out there, very quickly and very pointedly, that you believe Jesus is the answer and you want for people to know that.
Rules to Live By: The Ten Commandments
I’m not going to list them here, but they’re easily available. Just check your Bible verses on anxieties for Exodus 20:3-17 and you’ll have the listing in the translation you’re most comfortable with. Having these places into stone tablets, maybe one tablet per arm and 5 Commandments per tablet, would be a great way to show off what you believe in.
The Source of My Strength: Philippians 4:13
This is a short verse. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Short verses often have a lot of power, though. You could put this onto a rock or mountain, showing the world that Christ is the rock, the foundation of your life and you believe anything is possible with His help.
Who Do You Trust? Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” This says scores about your belief. It shows that you are a humble creation of God and you are submitting yourself to Him. It displays for anyone you allow to see that you know you are not enough; rather, you must rely on Him to be your strength to accomplish things.
What’s Your Idea of a Good Time? Psalms 37:4
“Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of the heart.” In other words, you’re a good person who doesn’t need alcohol and drugs and wild, outrageous parties to give yourself a good time. Your faith and you walk with the Lord are all that you need in order to get what you need from this life, and serving Him brings you more enjoyment and contentment than any party ever could.
How Can I Get to Heaven? John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” You want people to understand that simply being a church-goer and doing good deeds is not enough to get you into Heaven. Jesus proclaimed it for all the world to hear, and putting this verse out there will just help you to spread the message to a wider audience.
